The Friday edition of La Repubblica talks about us and the "Probe" project.

Sul Venerdì di Repubblica si parla di noi e del progetto "Probe"
The scientific research supported by Fondazione Heal is boundless, looking beyond, aiming for comprehensive care in pediatric neuro-oncology and complex diseases. What does this mean? It's a tournament.

Once the arduous molecular challenge, the one played in the laboratory—trying to best study the enemy and identify its weak point—has been overcome, the next challenge is the technical one. Neurosurgeons must do their best to solve the problem, trying to create the fewest possible side effects on the young patient. Because that's what it's all about: the hope of neutralizing the adversary, without causing hemiparesis, blindness, or damage to the nervous system.
And too often we make unfair compromises.

This brings us to the birth of “ Probe ” ( Probe Enabling Targeted And Personalized Growth Paths And Improve Performances - From Space To Neurosurgery ), a project that aims to train the new generation of neurosurgery .
But what does this mean here too? It means providing them with the necessary tools, both theoretical and technological, to approach each operation with a completely new level of awareness .

And while on the one hand there is technological advancement, with futuristic tools like the neurosurgical simulator and augmented reality, on the other there is the power of collaboration and sharing. The creation of a hub where neurosurgeons can access, search, and exchange information on different cases is a fundamental support for research.

We are honored to undertake this difficult and important journey with a center of excellence in neurology , such as the Carlo Besta Neurological Institute in Milan, which will provide the space and equipment. Meanwhile, the SME Deep Blue, which has been committed to developing research throughout Europe for years, will provide training courses for new neurosurgeons.
This is a project we care deeply about and is the subject of a publication in Venerdì di Repubblica, issue 1861 of November 17, 2023. Sincere thanks to journalist Daniele Autieri for choosing to tell this beautiful story that looks to the future of research.
